About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Disbursements Specialist to join our Accounts Payable team. This role is critical in managing high-volume payment processing for a department that handles millions of dollars in disbursements daily. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly analytical, and has experience with large-scale payment operations-not just basic AP functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process hundreds of payments daily, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Manage batch processing, uploads, and payment runs in Oracle (or similar ERP system).
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all disbursements for AP invoices.
  • Research and resolve issues related to uncashed checks, including initiating stop payments and reissuance.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot payment discrepancies.

What We're NOT Looking For

  • Candidates with limited payment experience (e.g., printing 10 checks per week).
  • Those who have only handled full-cycle AP without high-volume disbursements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience with a focus on high-volume disbursements.
  • Proven experience processing hundreds of payments per day in a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of check, ACH, and wire payment processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to resolve complex payment issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a department handling multi-million-dollar daily disbursements.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage competing priorities.
